When I try to play quake 3 and join a server. It gets stuck at "awaiting challenge... #" It just keeps counting.

I have googled and tried everything I saw.

I'm running it as admin, I tried port forwarding. I tried a fresh install.

IT also happened to my other computer running from the same network. Tried fiddling around with my router, can't see an appropriate setting. I'm using TPlink W8901 or something.

I also have urban terror which works fine.

which server are you attempting to join? it does this to me occasionally when i try to join razer or n2p's servers

Have you tried to /reconnect when this is popping up?

Sometimes it fixes it, not all the time tho.

Did you patch it?

I have the 1.16 patch. Happens every time I try to join a server.

Mainly trying to connect to n2p, but I have tried other serves as well.

Where did you get the files to install?

It can't be the files. two completely different installs of quake, on two different machines. Both can't connect. Check router settings and can't see any problems. Could always join servers then all of a sudden without changing router settings I couldn't connect.

Thought the problem would disappear when I bought a new computer and fresh installed q3.

i got this issue on QL once... i think i sorted it out by clearing the cache, cookies and all browsing history. Don't suppose that will effect Q3 at all though?
