I used an Android phone for years.....just got the iPhone 4s at launch. No even a comparison. iPhone is amazing.

But, going off of your initial reply.... "If you own an iphone and it isn't jailbroken get rid of it..." isn't true for everyone.

Not everyone has a need for apps that cost money, or need to worry about spending $1. My point is just because a phone isn't JB, doesn't render it worthless.

When I had my android, I did root it....but that was due to wanting the upgraded firmware that I couldn't get. I was able to get the free tethering, which was nice....but was a novelty. Since I have bought apps in the past already from apple, other then the tethering unlock, it's pointless for me. Again, it's to each their own really. Some benefit more then others by JB's, but for me the iPhone stock works perfect. And is Superior over all to the android system.

The initial reason I said this was because without the mass amount of apps the iphone has the newest high end android phones are better. If they had every single app an iphone had I think they would dominate the iphone. The iphones biggest selling point is the mass amount of good apps and I think everybody knows that. Why else would you get an iphone? You wouldn't get it for its screen or its bluetooth. Some people just like the way the iphone looks, sure why not. But most people have a big chunky protective case on their phone because they know if it drops they're fucked. So assuming the latest android phones had all the apps and could be jailbroken the same way an iphone could would I still own an iphone? Nope. I would rather have an amazing camera on my phone and a big high definition screen. I even prefer the androids OS compared to apples. Again, the only reason I have an iphone is because I can get all the apps for free. I think I have explained my self enough to not need to answer another question but if there is something I have missed please go ahead.

You can JB/root an android just as easy as an iPhone. But I agree, the apps from apple are, for the most part, better. As far as the camera and screen, again...it's not comparing apple to android, it's comparing the iPhone to a specific android phone....1 by 1.

Example:

iPhone4s: 8mp camera, 1080p video. 3.5 screen
Photon: 8 mp camera, 720p video. 4.3 screen

That comparison, the Android phone is better, over all, since I would rather the larger screen then the nominal difference of the HD ratio on video.. But what about other android operating phones? But camera wise, the iPhone has it due to video. I know there are 12 mp android phones made, but there are also still 5mp phones. So comparing the iphone to a non iphone isn't the same as comparing apple to android.

There are quite a few andriod os phones that are new that are not as good. It depends on the phone, not just android.

That said, you liking the android os better is valid. That is a fair opinion because you are comparing something comparable. But someone saying an android phone is better then an iphone....isn't....unless you are comparing 1-1 phone, Since there are many many android phones that are better or worse.


I didn't dislike the android os, although I didn't have the newest update. And I can't say the ios5 is "so much better". I just like the feel and response of the iphone....and apples processor, camera, video, screen resolution, and apps are more appealing to me. And JB'in for me at least, isn't needed.
