I used an Android phone for years.....just got the iPhone 4s at launch. No even a comparison. iPhone is amazing.

Although, there are nice Android phones out there, especially screen size..... still, nothing close over-all.

Sorry, I thought iPhones were nice till I saw the high end Androids. The Nexus is amazing plus it honestly weighs just about as much as a paperclip lol, at least it seems.

Plus it syncs way better with Google, although this is a given.

I love the Apple vs. Google Rivalry, kind of tough though because Google is a web giant. Although Apple does have more money, that doesn't matter. I personally believe Google has the upper hand.

High end androids are awesome. I was literally minutes away from buying a GSII but my brother convinced me to wait and see what apple would release this year. I am currently running on an iPhone 3G but my 4s is already delivered, just need to pick it up at a friend's house since delivering to my apartment is a bitch.

The Nexus looks awesome but I could only buy an iPhone since I'm going to live in Europe next year and I didn't want to lock myself into a contract, and getting my hands on an off-contract Nexus required me to buy it off e-Bay which I don't quite trust.

I do wish the iPhone had the bigger screen, though. Otherwise it's perfect for my needs (syncs better with my Mac and apart from gmail I don't use anything google).

Also everyone and their mother seems to be going the iPhone route down here so the iMessage thing should be interesting, even though WhatsApp is a given nowadays.

apple vs google, apple has better phones, and the ipad, and apple tv (looks sweet) and macbooks.

Google will be used on all of those apart from apple tv, google has way more utilities, google is the best form of advertisment possible.

It depends if we talk about software or hardware, but i personally have never owned any apple stuff...

Created a new topic since that topic is about the new theme Smile

Well I understand what pornfish is saying, without a contract the Nexus and others are up around $400+

EQ: Apple said that they will discontinue using Google search in Safari and other Google products. Not sure how true they will follow this but I do know they are suppose to be making Apple Maps, their own search engine, etc.

They also created Siri which is a of what Androids have, maybe not exactly the same but they have voice recognition.

I just read earlier as well that Apple (Sharp) is making TV and so is Google (Samsung).

Either way this should be interesting and only good for the consumers.

If you own an iphone and it isn't jailbroken get rid of it, you're doing it wrong.

I had my ipod jailbroken and really, there's not a ton of things to do with it that's worth it really. You can get some different app, some free apps as well, customize more....but honestly, I didn't see the benefits being that great. The apps strictly for JB phones are mostly crap, and having the ability to add some paid app for free really isn't all that great. Other then tethering and maybe emulators, JB'ing really isn't anything that interests me anymore. Also, when apple updates, you typically have to re-install the JB and or revert back to apples new ios and wait till the JB is updated. Too much of a pain to be worth it.

As far as what Joe said, Having had both phones, obviously google synced well with the android...but so does the iphone. Switching phones, I was able to sync everything saved in google (contacts are the main purpose) just as easy as with android. And my android phone was actually made by google....but both phones sync seamlessly.

Some android phones have better screens but you have to remember, this is sort of comparing an "apple" (no pun in tended) and an orange tree. Apple makes 1 phone where android has many phones. Some good, some suck. Apple's processor is superior as is their graphic engine. Also, the ability to pair with other apple devices is a huge benefit for those with multiple apple products. Also, a lot of the "large corporation" app support seems to start with the iphone and "may" release to android, but may not. EG: I can sit on my porch with my iPhone and control every TV in the house....something my cable provider didn't offer with android. I can get apps to mirror JB customization as well.

As of now, Siri is more of a gimmick then anything really right now. It is a great addition, but they need to add more to it. But it blows androids VR out of the water as it stands now. Also is easier to use.

I'm not bias to the iPhone because it's the only phone I have used. I just prefer it over-all. There are some android phones with some better things (screens, camera) but as a whole package, I think the iPhone tops hands down.

Having your retarded locked bluetooth unlocked like a normal phone is a good thing, as is unlocking your phone to any network. Caller ID spoofing using apps is funny too. Having every application for free is more than worth the 10 minutes it takes to jailbreak your phone.

Not all apps are offered via dl. And I have had ones that crashed all the time on jb that worked fine purchased. Also, on an iso update sometimes the jb and apps stop working all together. That's happened to me on iso updates.

Realistically, the tethering is the only real reason to jb. In the US all the main carriers have iPhones now and if not, you can get an unlocked phone. You can use an unlocked phone on any US carrier that offers data.

But even if you unlock the tether, aside from sprint in the US, every carrier has data limits anyway. I have sprint so I have no data limits.... But it's getting hard to find a place that I can't find wifi anyway. Again, having jb'd before.... There's really nothing that amazing about it. The very few apps worth getting free typically aren't worth updating your jb just to have free. In 3 years of apple products, I have spent maybe $50 on apps. With no headaches.

Assuming you have an iPhone, you should know jb updates can suck especially after a new iso release and update after update.

To me, JB'in is for the people that are deep into cell phones and programming...or "kids" who think they are cool to say "I hacked an iphone". I mean, it takes 2 minutes to do, tops....it's not anything special to do it, and I don't see enough benefits to do it again.

Do iPhones not tether in the US? Both my previous 3G and my new 4S come with the option to share the internet connection via bluetooth and cable, and the 4S even creates a WiFi hotspot... it's standard iOS functionality, not an app, I can do it from the Settings thingy. That's weird.

I spent 0 on apps with no headaches. I've never downloaded an app or game that didn't work. My 16gb iphone is almost full with mostly apps. I can't imagine what you are losing by doing it. There really isn't a reason to not jailbreak your phone, you may say it isn't worth it but if you go to the mall and get things you would pay for free would you not take it? Of course you would. USA mobile phone carriers are obviously different, UK ones are all equally good.

Tethering in the US costs extra on the iphone. As it does on android....granted, its easier to do it anyway on the android for free. But like I said, in the US....it's hard to step 5 feet (in some areas, like mine) with out finding a hot spot. And for me, I don't really use /need it anyway.

And merk, you cant compare going to the mall to buy things and apps that cost under a dollar lol. Come on.

UK Satnav: £49.99 to have it in other countries add £59.99

Jailbroken iphone? App = FREE. Even if an app is a dollar I'd still rather be a dollar richer than a dollar poorer.

Satellite navigation costs money? I know theres things like Tom-tom....but I use a free one that seems to track just as good. If you mean something else, then I guess I have no idea. Although, what ever you mean by satnav....is it something you use on your iphone regularly?

I've only had the iPhone 4s, so I don't know abou the others....but the pre-loaded Nav I have used a few times....and was extremely accurate. Honestly seemed to be to the foot lol.

It may "feel" nice to have expensive apps...but if they do the exact same things as free ones, whats the point? Also, unless you travel often, do you really need a nav app? Yes it can be useful from time to time....but just pirating something because it's expensive, doesn't make it useful.

Not pirating something because there is a free alternative which is arguably not as good doesn't make it better.

But, going off of your initial reply.... "If you own an iphone and it isn't jailbroken get rid of it..." isn't true for everyone.

Not everyone has a need for apps that cost money, or need to worry about spending $1. My point is just because a phone isn't JB, doesn't render it worthless.

When I had my android, I did root it....but that was due to wanting the upgraded firmware that I couldn't get. I was able to get the free tethering, which was nice....but was a novelty. Since I have bought apps in the past already from apple, other then the tethering unlock, it's pointless for me. Also I never have to worry about: http://www.mobilewhack.com/new-iphone-virus-could-harm-jailbroken-iphones/ (although, android viruses are worse and more common)

Again, it's to each their own really. Some benefit more then others by JB's, but for me the iPhone stock works perfect. And is Superior over all to the android system.
