This isn't anything you wanted but I thought that I'd attempt to find my style. No tutorials followed, all me. I learned a hella lot too! Thanks for pushing me Tad, Tool, and Virtuosity.

You can always do Filter > Blur > Surface Blur
That will help get rid of the sharpen but before you do that convert it to a smart object so you can edit the smart filter and lower the opacity of the surface blur. Also maybe had a high pass filter will make it stand out.
