ok, so, I totally made the line/tile effects by accident. I had no idea what I was going to do with this siggy so I just sorta winged it. The first one I did was with a render of master chiefs helmet.



I thought it looked ok, and I spent about an hour to try and blend it in like abuse does his his siggies. I just couldn't figure out how. So I went on deviantart.com and found a drawing of jack of blades from Fable. I put that in and this was the result.



Personally I like the 2nd one.

in this case i like the 1st one more.
has an ancient'ish feeling to it, and the left side of the helmet is very well blended, also the whole tag is monotone, which kind of makes it okay.

the 2nd one could be good if you added some red strokes in the background.
Black/white'ish sigs with only 1 color in them look good, if they have the same color as an accent in the render AND the bg.

Like in these two.

The first two look better cause of the color accent and they don't look so dull.
in your case you can and should use the red color of the render, though the render overall needs to be made a bit more colorless.
